HistoryThe NASRA Foundation was founded in 2020 at the express wishes of Kirit and Jignasa Patel.
This scholarship fund was inspired by Kirit's grandfather who wanted to provide education and jobs to anybody in his family. His father did the same thing to help others with education, shelter, and medical help. Kirit and Jignasa would like to continue their family legacy with the philosophy of helping his community through supporting education. They would like to provide financial aid to students wanting to further their studies in the United States. They are grateful for his grandchildren who help him set up this scholarship and hopes they will continue this legacy even further. We are sad to announce that Kirit Patel passed peacefully on October 7, 2024. This foundation exists as a testimony to his legacy and impact. |
About UsThe NASRA Foundation is a fully formed 501(c)3 Charitable Corporation incorporated in California.
This foundation continues Kirit and Jignasa Patel's legacy of providing financial support to worthy recipients in need. The foundation is run by their descendants who actively maintain and monitor its operation as well as make decisions about scholarship applicants. The foundation does not engage in fundraising but rather distributes funds allocated for its purpose from the family estate. The primary goal of this foundation and its scholarship is to help students attend and complete college in order to have the opportunity to realize their dreams. The NASRA Foundation is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders by supporting students who uplift and advance the Asian Indian community through education, service, and cultural impact. We strive to expand opportunity, foster excellence, and invest in individuals committed to creating meaningful change for their communities and the world. |
